Elf Juice: Pear + Rosemary Holiday Spritzer

December 16th, 2013

I am always looking for ways to take fun holiday treats and traditions, and make a fairly lighter option. I  love me some egg nog and rum, but you just can’t have that drink too many times in a season without feeling like you are a worthless human being and punching yourself in the gut. Too much? Let’s move on.
I also am a big fan of commemorating seasons with drinks in the mornings on the weekend (mimosas namely) or after dinner any night really… so this recipe really fit the bill for these two reasons. It is light, and it is perfect for a brunch or dessert, but definitely holiday style. Pears and Rosemary are included in so many yummy holiday recipes, and offer really refreshing flavors, while still remaining light enough to translate to a brunchy cocktail.
So, without further ado, here is a little holiday brunch or dessert treat, that I like to call, Elf Juice.
INGREDIENTS //
1 Tbsp organic pear juice
1/4 Shot of Cointreau (I used Grand Gala orange liqueur as a cheaper substitute)
1 Slice of pear for garnish
1 Sprig of rosemary for essence
And a cute little snowflake ice cube made with a tray from the $1 isle in Target
This is the recipe for one drink, in one champagne flute. If you are making the drink in a bigger glass, or for multiple people at once (in a pitcher of sorts), then be sure to adjust accordingly.
I hope you have a delicious Tuesday. Be sure to let me know if you make any Elf Juice this holiday season. Mostly because I just wanted to use the term “Elf Juice” again, and wanted to give you the opportunity to do so as well.
Cheers,
